What should I expect after my Clear & Brilliant Perméa/LaseMD treatment?
The treated area may turn slightly red and swollen. This redness and swelling may last for several days. After a few days, and depending upon the condition you had treated, you may experience many small black specks (peppery-like appearance) on the treated area. You may also experience some tenderness and itching as well as dry patches of skin. This may last for several days.
Are there any special skin care instructions I should follow after the Clear & Brilliant Perméa/LaseMD treatment?
Sunscreen should be applied prior to going outdoors. Icepacks should be applied to the treated area for comfort, moving them around frequently (few minutes on, few minutes off) as needed the day of your procedure. Do not leave an ice pack in one area for 10 minutes.
May I wear make-up after being treated with the Clear & Brilliant Perméa/LaseMD?
Makeup may be applied four (4) hours following your procedure. Particular care must be taken to avoid irritation of the skin while removing your make-up. Avoid abrasive or irritating make-up removers.
Can I go out into the sun after getting the Clear & Brilliant Perméa/LaseMD treatment?
Direct sun exposure should be avoided following any laser therapy (and in general); including Clear & Brilliant Perméa/LaseMD. Broad spectrum sun screen of SPF-30 or higher may be applied to the treated area following the treatment to avoid sun damage including post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. In general, you should be wearing sunscreen daily as a preventative action against skin damage.
When should I return to have the area treated with Clear & Brilliant Perméa/LaseMD re-evaluated?
Additional treatments vary from patient to patient. Please ask the treating physician when you should return for additional treatments.
What should I expect after my Genius/Infini treatment?
The treated area may become red, swollen and possibly bruised. This redness, swelling and bruising may last for several days and rarely up to 2 weeks. The bruising may occur particularly around the jawline and below the eyes. “Tracking” (small pinpoint marks) from the needles may take one week to clear. You may also experience some tenderness and itching as well as dry patches of skin.
Are there any special skin care instructions I should follow after the Genius/Infini treatment?
Please do NOT apply any topical skin products and/or cleansers to the treated area for 24 hours after the procedure. This includes retinols, skin aging products, sunscreen, etc. We will recommend a post procedures skincare regimen with you in the office.
May I wear make-up after being treated with the Genius/Infini?
Make-up may be worn a few days following your procedure. Particular care must be taken to avoid irritation of the skin while removing your make-up. Avoid abrasive or irritating makeup removers and do not scrub your face.
Can I go out into the sun after getting the Genius/Infini procedure?
Direct exposure of sunlight should be avoided following your treatment therapy (and in general). A broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF-30 or higher should be applied to the treated area 24 hours AFTER treatment to avoid sun damage including hyperpigmentation.
When should I return to have the area treated with Genius/Infini re-evaluated?
Additional treatments vary from patient to patient. Please ask the treating physician when you should return for additional treatments.
What should I do the day before getting the MiraDry treatment?
It is recommended that you shave both underarms 1-2 days before your procedure. Please do NOT use deodorant, powder, or perfume under your arms on the morning of treatment.
Are there any specific diets I should follow on the day of the MiraDry procedure?
No. We recommend eating on the day of your procedure.
What type of attire should I wear for the MiraDry procedure day?
Please be comfortable, we will provide a gown for treatment.
How long is the MiraDry procedure?
The procedure will last approximately 60 – 75 minutes.
Does the MiraDry procedure hurt?
No. You will be numbed before the procedure starts. The numbing needles feel like pin pricks, the medication we use might sting upon injection, and some patients temporarily experience a jittery/shaky feeling during the procedure. Otherwise, you will be numbed in those areas during the procedure and shouldn’t feel any pain.
What should I expect after the MiraDry procedure?
Your doctor will likely recommend a mild over the counter pain medication and repeated icing for a few days to minimize the swelling and discomfort that some patients may experience.
Are there any special skin care instructions I should follow after the MiraDry treatment?
You must keep the treated area clean by washing with water and gentle cleanser. Please wear loose fitting tops for the next few days and avoid shaving or applying antiperspirant/deodorant for the next few days.
Can I exercise after the MiraDry procedure?
Do not exercise post-treatment for three days; counting the day of the procedure as day #1. And please also avoid any rigorous activity for several days post procedure. Some patients may have to refrain from exercise for a longer period of time.
What should I expect after my Miria treatment?

You may also experience some tenderness and itching as well as dry patches of skin.
Are there any special care instructions I should follow after the Miria treatment?
Immediately postoperatively, we will administer a topical cream to the treated area. You will be provided with this post op cream which you should continue to apply for two (2) days postoperatively (once in the morning and once at night ONLY). You can apply ice packs to the treated area on the day of your procedure, not during sleep, and in the morning following your procedure. Applying ice to the affected area for, frequently moving the ice around. A skin care regimen maybe recommended for you or you may apply your own moisturizer, as needed, for dryness until the side effects (if any) subside. A daily moisturizer with a sunscreen is also recommended. Elevate your head during sleep to minimize swelling.
Do I need to take any medications for the Miria treatment?
Valacyclovir and/or Prednisone may be recommended by the treating physician. This medication will be dispensed in the office. You will be instructed on how and when to take them.
May I wear make-up after being treated with Miria?
Make-up may be worn; however, we suggest you wait at least 24 hours after the treatment before applying make-up. Particular care must be taken to avoid irritation of the skin while removing your make-up. Avoid abrasive or irritating make-up removers.
Can I go out into the sun after getting the Miria treatment?
Direct exposure of sunlight should be avoided following your treatment. If there is no crusting or blistering, a broad spectrum sun screen of SPF-30 or higher should be applied to the treated area. However, in general, you should be wearing sunscreen daily as a preventative action against skin damage.
When should I return to have the area treated with Miria re-evaluated?

What type of pulsed dye lasers do you have in your offices?
We have the Vbeam, Perfecta, and Prima.
What should I expect after my pulsed dye laser treatment?
Depending on the laser settings and the indication for which it is being used, the treated area may turn dark purple/black immediately following your treatment. This discoloration will become somewhat darker over the next several hours and it will remain dark for 7 to 14 days. Surrounding this treated area, you may experience some redness and/or itching which should resolve within several days. It is possible that you may experience blisters, scaling or crusting following this laser procedure.
If the treated area is near the upper cheek or eye, you should anticipate some swelling. If this occurs, sleep with your head elevated and apply ice packs.
What should I do if the area treated with pulsed dye laser begins to crust or blister?
The skin should then be treated gently twice daily with applications of Aquaphor healing ointment. If the area has increased redness and itching, discontinue the ointment and call our office. It is not necessary to wear a bandage the treated area. However, if a bandage is preferred, a telfa (non-adhesive) bandage should be used. It can be cut size and secured with paper tape. The area may get wet while bathing, but swimming should be avoided for one week following treatment or advised by your physician.
May I wear make-up after being treated with the pulsed dye laser?
Make-up may be worn if there is no blistering or crusting following the procedure. Particular care must be taken to avoid irritation of the skin while removing the make-up. You should avoid abrasive or irritating make-up removers.
Can I go out into the sun after getting the pulsed dye laser treatment?
Direct exposure of sunlight should be avoided following any laser therapy; including pulsed dye laser. If there is no crusting or blistering, a zinc or titanium-based sun screen of SPF-30 or higher should be applied to the treated area for two months following the treatment to avoid sun damage. However, you should be wearing sunscreen daily as a preventative action against skin damage.
When should I return to have the area treated with pulsed dye laser re-evaluated?
Please make a follow-up appointment within 3 to 6 weeks following your last pulsed dye laser treatment unless the physician has instructed you otherwise.
What should I expect after getting the Ruby laser?
A small blister may form in some of the treated areas within 24-48 hours. Some scaling or crusting may also occur, this is a normal. The treated areas may appear darker in color after the procedure; this is normal. Results vary from patient to patient.
Are there any special skin care instructions I should follow after getting the Ruby laser?
On the day following treatment apply Aquaphor ointment to the treated area as often as necessary to keep the area moist. Apply Aquaphor at least twice a day and continue this process until the area is completely healed. You may cleanse the area(s) with your routine cleansers. Please note: If the area has redness and itching, discontinue the ointment and call the office for instruction.
May I wear make-up after being treated with the Ruby laser?
Make-up should not be used over the treated area(s) until it has completely healed.
Can I go out into the sun after getting the Ruby laser treatment?
Direct exposure of sunlight should be avoided following any laser therapy; including Ruby laser. If there is no crusting or blistering, a broad spectrum sun screen of SPF-30 or higher should be applied to the treated area (if the treated area is exposed) following the treatment to avoid sun damage. However, you should be wearing sunscreen daily as a preventative action against skin damage.
When should I return to have the area treated with Ruby laser re-evaluated?
Please make a follow-up appointment within 4 to 6 weeks following your last Ruby treatment unless the physician has instructed you otherwise.
What precautions should I take on the day I will getting sclerotherapy treatment?
Do NOT shave your legs the morning of your treatment. You may bring a pair of shorts to wear during the treatment. The office will provide a gown for your comfort.
What type of attire should I wear for the sclerotherapy procedure day?
Please wear loose fitting clothing and comfortable walking shoes.
Are there any specific diets I should follow on the day of the sclerotherapy procedure?
No. We recommend eating a light meal or snack prior to your appointment.
Do I need to wear compression sock/stockings after my sclerotherapy treatment?
Yes. Compression hose are required immediately after your procedure and must be worn for two weeks following treatment except when you are showering, taking a bath, or while you are sleeping. You can purchase compression socks/stockings in our office or purchase elsewhere and bring to your visit.
Will I bruise and/or feel pain after getting sclerotherapy treatment?
Bruising, firmness, and/or temporary darkening of the treated areas is normal following treatment. Take ibuprofen and use warm compresses as directed for discomfort. If you develop crusting or blistering, call the office. Aquaphor ointment should be applied twice daily to these areas. Please be aware, the treated veins will look worse before they look better.
Can I exercise after getting sclerotherapy treatment?
Moderate exercise is fine, but avoid high-impact activities like repeated jumping, as well as marathon-length running, hot yoga, and lower leg weight lifting (greater than your own body weight) for the duration of your treatment.
Can I travel after getting sclerotherapy treatment?
No flights or car rides longer than four hours for 2 weeks after treatment.
What if a situation happens before my appointment, where I am unable to walk for the next couple of days following sclerotherapy?
If something occurs prior to your appointment that would prevent you from walking, please postpone your treatment.
Can I go out into the sun after getting sclerotherapy treatment?
Direct exposure of sunlight should be avoided for the duration of your treatment.
Do I need downtime for Sofwave or Ultherapy treatment?
Immediately after your procedure, you are able to return to your normal activities right away, and there are no special measures that need to be taken. Your skin may appear a bit flushed immediately after the treatment, but any redness should disappear in a matter of hours. You may also feel mild tenderness under the treated areas, which is normal.
Will I be in pain after getting Sofwave or Ultherapy?
There should not be significant pain following these procedures. If needed, take Extra Strength Tylenol. Avoid NSAIDS such as Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Aleve, and Aspirin until the day after your procedure.
Are there any special skin care instructions I should follow after getting Sofwave or Ultherapy?
Wash skin with cool water and a gentle cleanser after procedure. If the skin is slightly pink or red in areas following the treatment, avoid hot water when washing or showering until the “blush” has subsided (usually within the hour). Avoid exfoliation for at least one week or until sensitivity in the treatment area has subsided. Makeup (preferably mineral-based) may be applied immediately post treatment, and soothing, non-irritating creams or moisturizers may be used. Use a sunscreen with SPF of 30 or greater if going out in the sun to prevent future sun damage.
How soon should I expect to start seeing results after getting Sofwave or Ultherapy treatment?
The regenerative process is initiated right away, but the full effect will gradually appear over 2 to 3 months. Multiple treatments may be necessary.
What should I expect after getting the PicoSure/PicoPlus laser?
The treated area(s) may turn white in color following your treatment and some swelling and redness may occur. Sometimes a blister may form; this is normal. Some scaling or crusting may occur. It can take several weeks or longer for the skin to return to normal.
Are there any special skin care instructions I should follow after getting the PicoSure/PicoPlus laser?
On the day following treatment begin gently cleansing the area with soap and warm water followed by the application of Aquaphor ointment. You may keep the area covered with a non-stick pad/bandage. Cleanse the area twice a day and apply Aquaphor liberally and cover with a band aid until all healed. Please note: If the area has redness and itching, discontinue the ointment and call the office for instruction.
May I wear make-up after being treated with the PicoSure/PicoPlus laser?
Make-up should not be used over the treated area(s) until it has completely healed.

What type of toxin injections do you have to treat fine lines and wrinkles?

What precautions should I take after getting a toxin injected (e.g., Botox)?
You should keep your head in an upright position (e.g., standing, sitting) for four (4) hours following the procedure. Do not rub or manipulate the injected areas for 4 hours after injection.
